About

My name is Dan O’Toole, a French and Spanish student at the University of Manchester and aspiring sports journalist.

This is my portfolio of work, with content including news repo640rts, match reports, featuresinterviewssocial media work and a blog.

Articles have been published by The Guardian, The Observer, Late Tackle Magazine and The Sheffield Star among many other national and regional titles. For a full list of publications, please see the panel on the left of the page (or below if on a mobile device).

In addition to freelance work, I have undertaken work experience placements on The Guardian’s sports desk and in the media departments of Burnley and Chesterfield Football Clubs, leading to continued involvement with their respective matchday programmes.

My language skills allied to my journalistic competence have enabled me to be published in French and Spanish by Manchester United’s respective foreign language websites, while I have also produced written Spanish translation for Manchester City.

I am currently working as Sevilla Fútbol Club’s English language club journalist, which involves original copy writing and social media content production, as well as the translation of spanish content from the club’s digital media platforms.
